Practice
Fernando has more than 15 years of experience in capital markets, private equity and venture capital. He has participated in several issuances of certificados bursátiles fiduciarios de Desarrollo (CKDes) and certificados bursátiles fiduciarios de proyectos de inversión (CERPIS) of private equity funds since 2009. This positions him as one of the leading lawyers in the sector. His experience also includes the creation of private vehicles for private equity and venture capital investment funds incorporated in Canada and Mexico, including funds destined to receive resources from CERPIS designed for the exclusive investment of specific AFORES. He has participated in securitizations of receivables, and has advised rating agencies on securitization transactions. Within his experience in securitizations, he participated in the structuring of an issuance of fiduciary certificates designed to allow insurers to invest in a financing platform of a global manager. He has taught the subject of Securities Law and Financing Structures in the Master's Degree in Business Law, as well as the subject Stock Market Financial Operations, in the Master's Degree in Financial Law, both at La Salle University. He has also taught modules related to the legal framework applicable to private equity and Venture Capital funds, CKDes, CERPIS and FIBRA-E, in the Executive Program for the Certification of Investment in Alternative Assets, organized by Riskmathics Financial Institute.
